It's a lot better than I expected. I'll give it that. Not a classic comedy by any means, but it's a lot better than about 80% of anything else featuring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, or director Brett Ratner.
In fact, this is probably Ratner's second best film behind the original Rush Hour. That's not saying much, but it's something. Tower Heist succeeds in taking an old and haggard plot and introducing fresh new ideas and concepts throughout the film, making it much more entertaining than it should be.
Definitely not the perfect comedic crime caper, but it's still pretty good.
