Review of Towelhead (2008) by Bev K — 30 Jan 2009
I think this is a very important realistic portrayal of a13 year old with totally effed up parents. Race, budding sexuality, and culture clash are all poignantly potrayed. It was difficult to watch at times and quite graphic but true to life. I think it is a movie to be shared with daughters and discussed. The themes are mature but need to be understood.
The actress playing Jasira made me laugh and cry.
MUST SEE.
