Review of Towelhead (2008) by Jared G — 03 Feb 2009
Dark suburban satire from writer-director Alan Ball is a very interesting film for how boldly it delves into its uncomfortable subject matter - but the relentlessly cruelty is over the top and often stretches credibility.
Excellent performances, but Newton Thomas Siegel's murky cinematography is distractingly stylized, and Thomas Newman's score is disappointingly mundane. Still, a film that should be seen for its audacity over its flaws.
