Review of Tout Va Bien (1972) by Anthony I — 14 Jan 2015
From the outside looking in, Godard paints for us a fascinating picture of the class struggle in France. It may seem like a PSA for communism, but so much of Godard's masterful technique of storytelling is present here, that it ends up being thoroughly entertaining.
This is one of the greatest pieces of propaganda I've ever seen. It's all filmed on a brilliant, towering stage. The characters speak to us directly, as if we are being lectured. If you want a perfect example of why Godard has influenced so many modern filmmakers, take a look at this one.
