Usually re-enactments are dreadful, saved for Lifetime specials and "Unsolved Mysteries," but MacDonald ("The Last King of Scotland") does something rather spectacular here: making the re-enactments as compelling as the story's subjects.
You're RIGHT THERE throughout the whole ordeal. Breathtaking and heartbreaking.
