Review of Touching the Void (2003) by Lee G — 05 Apr 2009
Think you're hard? Like......Chuck Norris hard?
Think again. One of the guys in this film would eat Chuck Norris for breakfast and then climb the un-climable mountain and still get back in time to watch The Weakest Link while having his tea.
The film's done in a documentary style, using actors to portray themselves while they provide narrative and video in an interview style. I have to say that it lacks a bit of drama because obviously the two guys are talking from the beginning, so you know they didn't both die. However, once you get past that, this is truely one of the most awesome displays of strength and determination you'll ever see. God knows how he did what he did. I would have given up with the donkeys before they even got there.
Amazing stuff.
