Review of Touching the Void (2003) by Ian S — 01 May 2009
I'm really glad they went the documentary route on this rather than attempting to make a blockbuster Hollywood movie out of it. Simpson and Yates's commentary makes it impossible to forget that the harrowing events portrayed on screen actually happened to them.
An incredibly powerful and moving film that is testament not only to the strength of human willpower, but also the power of forgiveness. Both Simpson and Yates are incredible men, and this is an incredible story.
