Review of Touching the Void (2003) by John L — 13 Mar 2011
If you're looking for a "jaw dropping" story Touching the Void is for you. This documentary puts you in the driver seat of a mountain climbers life threating story. Director Kevin Macdonald puts together a beautiful film that puts you right there with climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates.
When these two ambitious climbers look to climb the 21,000 foot peak of "Siula Grande" and then the unexpected happens. The movie captures the story with every detail that a viewer could imagine.
It gives the sense of adventure and thrill, through every twist and turn that gives you the feeling your actually experiencing it. Any of the above corresponds with what you want to seek in a movie then Touching the Void is right for you.
