Review of Touching the Void (2003) by Gordy C — 28 Apr 2011
Touching the void is a documentary/reenactment of what happened when simon yates and Joe Simpson climbed the mountain Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes. It's about Joe trying to get back to base camp after having a nasty fall resulting in a broken leg.
He had to do this all on his own, seeing that his friends believed he was dead. The actors do such a incredible job, I thought all of this was really happening. The movie has a lot of suspense, which made me actually fear for Joe's life.
It has a lot of great camerawork, especially when they show the exterior shoots of the mountains. There isn't really anything bad I can Say about this movie. It's just a really well made documentary/reenactment.
