Review of Touchback (2011) by Darryl T — 11 Apr 2012
Fantasy move of how one moment defines your future. The problem is that it is being viewed as "finding the most important things in one's life". To appreciate this film you have to believe that one injury defines one's future. It is a slap in the face for those who are successful with handicaps.
The shallow self pity is absolute hard to swallow and I found it hard to root for the main character. The main character is neither the good or bad guy ... just a selfish guy who is willing to get hurt again because he believes that the mortgage will finally be paid, his farm will grow wheat and all his worries are over.
It is a simple over dramatic cliché that you have to "lose everything to appreciate what you have" - skip this movie in the theater and wait for it to come to DVD or Netflix in 3 months.
