Review of Touch the Sound (2004) by Sylvia L — 29 Jul 2008
It's a crime the ratings on this film are so low. It's a brilliant film -- if slow, it's because it's moving at the pace of human discovery and synthesis. And this film truly is about discovery of sound as much for the viewer as it is for the film's star.
Riedelsheimer has done a great job showing the gifted Evelyn Glennie in playful, spontaneous performances -- it's a joy to watch and hear. Through his cinematic storytelling, he has also done a great job "simulating" for the audience what the touch of sound might be like, that kind of sensitivity that Glennie possesses.
Visually, there are some awesome cinematic shots.
