Review of Touch of Evil (1958) by Patrick B — 10 Jan 2008
This deliberately trashy and stylish film noir features Charlton Heston as a Mexican. That's right. Still, it's thrilling and brillinatly directed (if you watch the 1998 re-release, anyway) by onetime wunderkind Orson Welles.
This may be his most overrated work; more attention needs to be paid to his adaptation of Kafka's The Trial, damnit!
