Review of Touch of Evil (1958) by Clay K — 12 Jan 2008
Welles' final directorial effort is a visually astounding noir that is obviously the work of a master filmmaker. Most impressive is that many parts of this sleazy tale of corruption and murder feel fresh and exciting even by today's standards, using long tracking shots, hand held shots and car-mounted shots.
Touch of Evil is a very entertaining and twisted film, a testament to Orson Welles' genius.
