Welles' 2nd masterpiece, "Touch of Evil" is a visual virtuoso, employing camera techniques that still challenge even the best of today's work. Plus, it has one of the best opening shots ever.
Heston as a Mexican is kind of ridiculous, but it is Welles himself as the corrupt officer that really gives the movie weight, no pun intended. A film that captures the essence of cinema, worthy of multiple viewings.
