Review of Touch of Evil (1958) by Jacob L — 13 Aug 2012
Better than Citizen Kane because it's basically Orson Welles tripping on acid. The story involves a Mexican border-town and two distinguished policemen on opposing sides of a murder investigation. Welles turns himself into high camp, and the movie is a bewitchingly nightmarish celebration of gaudy trashiness.
With Charlton Heston as (laughter) a Mexican narcotics cop, and Janet Leigh as his wife.
