Review of Total Recall (2012) by Sophia H — 13 Sep 2013
The irony is that this movie tries to cop out by claiming to be based off of the original short story and not the 1990 movie, but has even less to do with the short story than the 1990 film did. Decent action, but otherwise it's Hollywood remakes at their most utterly pointless.
Collin Farrell's role should've been played by Keanu Reeves, because all he does is run around looking confused. The plot is basically the same as the 1990 film, except here we don't care if it's reality or a dream, and the hamfisted references to the 1990 film stick out like sore thumbs.
Not recommended.
