Review of Total Recall (2012) by Yogi B — 09 Aug 2013
There's a decent film in here somewhere but it gets bashed and trashed and crashed around by a complete overindulgence of FX and noise. Narratively it actually is an improvement on the original but, once again, Hollywood completely gets PKD wrong.
(and the only time they truly got him right was at the adept hands of Richard Linklater) Shame, really, because Farrell is a decent enough actor that, given the right material and a better script, this could have been something worthwhile.
