I wouldn't have expected to have liked this, I don't remember liking the original much, but this isn't that bad really. You're guessing what's going on if you haven't seen (or don't remember the original) throughout which keeps you interested and the effects are quite impressive.
Not Farrell at his best but it's not too bad.
