Review of Total Recall (2012) by Mario M — 09 Feb 2015
It's a decent film, once you forget that it is a remake of a classic (which is hard). Action sequences were entertaining and fun. It had all the visuals but fell a little flat on the plot. I'm a sucker for SFX and that's why I thought it was worth a watch.
They never explored Mars which was the most entertaining part of the original. Seems like an opportunity missed to me. I think the problem was that it took itself a little too seriously. Too much emphasis on visuals and other areas are left neglected.
Overall, a decent film to watch.
