Now, I really like the original, so I went into this quite looking forward to a version with better special effects. And the special effects are fantastic, the landscapes are breathtaking. But this film is catastrophically dull.
This is a heavy eyelid educing movie, and yes the whole lift through the centre of the earth thing is ludicrous, but I wouldn't care if it was fun. But it's just so soul crushingly boring.
