Not quite the 'cerebral' adaptation that Phillip K Dick fans would expect, but a great sci-fi premise executed with style and zeal by Paul Verhoeven. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a jo-blow construction worker who is convinced that he used to be a spy on Mar who was brainwashed into thinking he was just a common man.
Great old-school miniature special effects and a rousing Jerry Goldsmith score punctuate this roller coaster ride. Look for Sharon Stone as the woman who may or may not be his wife!
