Review of Total Eclipse (1995) by Jacob F — 24 Jul 2007
This is under my favorite films for two reasons. 1)The acting is excellent. 2) It is worth watching. It is NOT however a executed correctly. The film focuses entirely too much on the affair between Rimbaud and Verlaine and not enough on the poetry.
However, it was good in the fact that it sparked an interest in the work of Rimbaud, who was essentially the first punk rocker in existence. While this film is not revolutionary Rimbaud's poetry is.
