Review of Total Eclipse (1995) by Damien K — 23 Jun 2009
A biopic about Rimbaud definitely intrigued me... but Leonardo DiCaprio? Well, I gave him credit for accepting this kind of role in the hey day of his teen heartthrob days. And I always wanted to know more about Rimbaud's life, except what I read by Kathy Acker.
Amazingly, the dialogue and Acker's crazy rants were rather consistent. However, I didn't like this movie much, nor do I think I like Rimbaud (although his poetry is great) OR Verlaine after seeing it.
I would still recommend it to any one curious... don't take my word for it.
