People seemed to hate this as it "wasn't as good as the original" which they often aren't if you've seem both. I hadn't seen the original (and can't even rememeber its name) but this to me was a sensory overload with some of the most amazing closeup food preparation providing mouth watering interludes to light witty dialogue about a family of ladies goverened by a traditional father who demands that his family all sit down for a feast every night.
cute and light, colourful and entertaining, nothing taxing on the brain but with all that food, I was already sold.
