Review of Torque (2004) by Michael M — 27 Jan 2008
Okay... it doesn't take much imagination to bash this movie, even if you haven't freaking seen it. But let's say you did see it. You'd know, like I know now, that it showcases some of the very worst writing in any movie in the past decade.
.. or more. It's pretty much indisputable how awful the writing was. The acting was, yes, miserable. Afwul use of CGI at moments. But really... insanely bad writing was the most painful thing. Sometimes it looks like a really bad CSI wannabe, and the scoring often makes it sound like one too.
Embarassing product placement (sadly, much worse in other movies). Silly action sequences (which they may have been trying to go for). One FANTASTIC thing happened in this movie though... Dane Cook gets punched in the face.
That made me cheer, and is a big reason I can't give this movie only half a star :D.
