I really enjoyed this movie a lot. Anne Bancroft is one of my favorite actresses. Sadly, I found myself connecting more with Harvey Fierstein's character than I wanted to. Not in the gayness factor, but in the first part of the trilogy when he keeps getting into unsatisifying relationships.
This movie gives me hope, because if a person who has problems with their mother and society at large when it comes to finding love, how much easier should it be for me? A straight white girl? Anyhow, this movie is funny and sweet, and I wish I could see the play.
