Review of Torch Song Trilogy (1988) by Osagie O — 04 Jan 2008
Way ahead of its time, this movie is at times clumsy and forced, BUT it remains a joyous ode to life, love and survival. A truly inspired play brought to life, with laughter and tears in almost equal measure.
Arnolds speech to his mother is almost on a par with the speech in 'Guess who's coming to Dinner' where Poitier rounds on his father ... A classic that has still not been matched for credibility.
