Review of Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970) by Nicole N — 26 Jan 2008

This is undoubtedly one of the best war movies ever made. War movies frequently are about something other than the war, such as a loves story (one painful example being â??Pearl Harborâ??) but Tora! Tora! Tora! is about war.

There's none of the Hollywood fluff that normally gets injected into a serious movie to make it â??more interesting.â?? 100% of the plot revolves around the events leading up to Pearl Harbor and the battle itself, and it shows it in a way that is extremely realistic and portrays both sides with respect.

The battle sequence is amazing, especially considering there was no CGI available. What surprised me most about this movie is how the music disappears during the actual battle, and it is just the noise of the battle.

I cannot recommend this movie highly enough.
