Review of Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970) by Kyle M — 02 Aug 2009
After having finally recovered from the abomination of "Pearl Harbor" (yes, I know it was several years ago, but anyone who has seen it can attest to how horrendous it really is), I have been chomping at the bit for a good, true-to-life story about Pearl Harbor.
Enter Tora! Tora! Tora! into the midst. A movie done more as a documentary, this film not only is historically accurate, but still manages to keep your attention by jumping back and forth between the American and Japanese perspectives. While the acting is somewhat sub-par, the characters are still believable enough to convince you of the reality of the whole situation.
A definite must-see for any WWII fan, especially those with an interest in the lead-up to the attack and depiction of the unbelievable blunders made by the Americans prior to Dec. 7th.
