Review of Top Secret! (1984) by Jon C — 27 Apr 2013
The creators of 'The Naked Gun' have succeeded yet again with another comedy.
Val Kilmer takes the lead this time playing a sort of Elvis-heartthrob.
He's sent to Germany for international relations and a spy thriller takes shape.
The comedy is just as balanced and I had myself laughing myself silly.
So many of the jokes and visual gags are so random and don't make much sense.
The movie doesn't lose its focus though.
The ending was pretty unsatisfying despite all the intentional laughs.
'Top Secret' is in the ranks with 'Naked Gun' and 'Airplane'.
