Review of Top Gun: Maverick (2022) by Calvincrack — 27 May 2022
Top Gun 2 delivers that 80s cheese you want with a striking coat of modern paint. While I wasn’t moved by the film’s paint-by-number emotional subplots, they were in service of a well rounded story that pays off marvelously in its final stretch.
The last 30 minutes of this film are among the best stretches of any action film I’ve seen. It becomes a full on roller coaster that deserves to be seen in IMAX.
