I saw this recently in the 25th Anniversary digitally remastered limited engagement theatrical release. It was just awesome. One great aspect of this film is that it was not all centered on Mr. Cruise necessarily, like most of his movies have become.
It was more about Naval Aviation. I particularly liked the scene when Goose stops by Maverick's place to talk with him. It was very genuine. Awesome cinematography, great soundtrack, and a smokin' hot Kelly McGillis.
