Review of Top Gun (1955) by Bill K — 09 Feb 2013
The IMAX 3D version was more than worth the trip back to the theatre. The 3D effects were good but not oppressive. Their were some scratchy parts in the air-to-air scenes but really nothing that took away from the movie.
The soundtrack in the big room was awesome and the drops of sweat on Maverick's face shows the IMAX adds something too. The CGI world of today could still learn something from the bass thumping raw power of 2 F-14 engines coming off a Cat shot.
