When he does stand up, Chris Rock is a caged tiger, pacing across the stage like a heavyweight champion sizing up his opposition. His movies, by comparison, have been merely tame, with the exception of the stunning documentary Good Hair.

In Top Five, Chris claims the big screen as his own. Sharp humor, some subtle commentary on entertainment culture, and a sizzling chemistry with Rosario Dawson make this a comedy with energy and momentum.

Look for a murderer's row of Def Jam-generation cameos by comics and rappers, and his stand up at the end result do us that we're lucky to have this guy back on his game. It's not for everyone, with plenty of references that require some ghetto context and a sex and drugs scene that's pretty explicit, but I cracked up all the way through this one.
