Review of Top Five (2014) by Daniel S — 30 Dec 2014
I hadn't even heard of this at the start of the year, and even when I saw the trailers I wasn't super stoked, but everyone kept saying it was really good so I saw it, at first I thought it was gonna be the usual look at a washed up star, but it definitely grew on me as it went along and by the end I really enjoyed it, rock isnt afraid to attack and expose the character of andre, who I imagine is based off himself at least somewhat, and goes to some dark places, both he and dawson are great together and have good chemistry, it's also got a lot of laughs, mainly from cedric the entertainer, I think I laughed at all his lines, I love JB smoove from Curb your enthusiasm, but his role here is more reserved than Leon, but hes still good tho, some good cameos and some pretty vulgar bits, I didnt mind them, but I definitely didnt expect it to go to the places it did, one of the best comedies of 2014.
