Review of Top Five (2014) by Kenny V — 16 Apr 2015
There are some writers who write best when they are writing what they know, stories close to or exactly like there own life. Top five is a great example of that as its Chris rocks best written screenplay by far.
It hits that perfect note of being funny, insightful, unique and interesting without to much of either one and without the tone feeling uneven. Rock plays a character very similar to himself which presents the challenge of making an audience relate and sympathize with a millionaire black comedian, but there is never a moment where it feels out of touch.
In the future mr rock, write what you know and we will get more gems like this.
