Review of Top Five (2014) by Tom M — 08 Nov 2015
I'm not quite sure if 'Top Five' being released the same year as 'Birdman' was somehow intentional or just coincidental, as both share the similar plot line having a main character as an actor trying to escape a role that they have built their career on.
Also just like 'Birdman', 'Top Five' casts the perfect actor to play the role in escaping their typical typecasting. Honestly I think the only way to describe this is 'Birdman' + more comedy + cameos + wider setting - amazing technicals - symbolism - deep story.
