Review of Tootsie (1982) by Kevin N — 03 Jan 2009
Just great fun. Dustin Hoffman is excellent; he manages to find a jaw-droppingly accurate medium between the sexes, and again and again nestles golden comic nuggets inside nests of sincere warmth and honesty.
The truth is gender seems miniscule and almost silly when put to the test, and Sydney Pollack's memorable classic always finds those real important human bonds which really matter.
