Review of Tootsie (1982) by Diane J — 04 Feb 2009

Loved this when it came out. Dustin was so believable as Tootsie, she was a separate character. Best lines with co-star Bill Murray, playing his roommate. Teri Garr, ditsy as usual, but charming. Good cast.

Jessica Lange is so vulnerable it's as if she's acting in another movie. Her performance is lovely, but doesn't fit the timbre of the movie. Charles Durning is really sweet and earnest as her father, who falls for Tootsie, just as the audience does.
