Possibly the best comedy made between 1980 and 1989. Very smart, perfectly directed and performed. A charming movie with an inmense heart, with great music and fantastic characters. Hoffman in his best comedy role, and overall one of his best performances; Lange was good too and so was Garr and Pollack (acting, I mean) and it's important to mention Bill Murray, who had only a few scenes and he was magnificent and hilarious.
A masterpiece of comedy.
