The best thing about Tootsie, after you get past the comedic aspects is the profound way that men and women are expected to be in our society...The comments about dating norms, the way he describes not knowing how a woman can afford the wardrobe requirements, the way that Jessica Lange's current man Dabney Coleman bosses her around, the comment about sending a girl chocolates is a thoughless gift.
Hey, I watched it in Soc 101 and got a lot more from the flick than just the casual observer.
