Review of Tootsie (1982) by Zach O — 13 Mar 2011
"Tootsie" succeeds because it simply tells a story, no matter how quirky it may be. It is very human and is ultimately a triumph for any and all viewers. Every member of the cast plays their respective role with sincerity and passion for the person underneath, even Dustin Hoffman in drag.
It's also incredibly funny with many awkward sexual moments thrown in that don't feel like we're making fun of the characters but instead are able to freely laugh at the situations.
