Review of Tooth and Nail (2007) by Jimmie H — 21 Oct 2008
I can think of many more negatives than positives about this movie, yet I liked it. It has almost everything I hate to see in movies. Lots of lapses in logic. The movie takes itself too seriously to have goofy, comic book character names and cheesy lines and cliches galore.
The idea that two thirds of the world's population kills itself off because we ran out of oil, when we made it for thousands of years without it is ludicrous. Having character names like Viper, Turino and Ford sounds like an 80s kids action flick.
And why is it that when normal people decide to become canibals, they automatically turn into big hulking mentally challenged biker looking dudes? Although the acting was pretty decent, there are plot holes and lapses in logic galore in the story.
Yet, I enjoyed it anyway. I started off the movie just rolling my eyes at the movie's inadequacies mentioned before, but by the end I was into it and having fun. I think somehow I wound up enjoying it because of it's flaws, rather than hating it because of them.
Go figure.
