I don't know. This was taken from Murakami's short story of the same name, but much is lost in the process. There are some funny moments in the movie but it lacks the insurmountable feeling of loss and isolation and loneliness that Murakami's words convey so subtly but so powerfully.
This movie on the other hand, feels too long and dull.
