Tomorrowland.

Good Acting. Good effects. Other than this.....

What was the elevator pitch for the movie??! "Disney needs a confusing movie like Inception was for Universal..." For starters, this movie was slow. It took 90 minutes to get to Tomorrowland with old Clooney and the gang. For a movie that was based in Tomorrowland, only 20 minutes of the whole damn thing took place there.

MAJOR ISSUE 1 - Setup.

I've always admired Disney for being positive and for having the "if you can dream it, you can do it" attitude. But this movie was pushing that theme to an EXHAUSTING degree.

MAJOR ISSUE 2 - Cheese.

Random Notes: Hugh Laurie's speech near the end was very preachy and conspicuously out of place.

I had a problem with the last scene. You know, The one that seems like a big Disney commercial looking for dreamers with the silly pin. Felt like Disney propaganda. And apparently nobody can go to tomorrowland unless they are ethnically diverse. No white men allowed.

My biggest problem is that I wanted to like this movie SO BAD. I love tomorrow land. I'm obsessed with the Carousel of Progress. When they had the scene at the worlds fair with it's a small world I almost peed my pants because I was so excited for what was to come and then my expectations dropped faster than a ride on the Tower of Terror.

The only person that really did dreaming besides the overly enthusiastic girl who never said no was George Clooney when he was five-years-old and made a rocket before the robot broke his heart. They talked about dreaming a lot but they never actually did it.

Why did George Clooney change from being so anti-tomorrow?! Because the screen flickered? Character development fail. Raise the stakes.

I appreciated how they try to promote the space program but they went about it in all the wrong ways.

Why did she make a big deal about her hat, then lose it and not even care?

Hugh Laurie had no backstory and desperately needed it. Seriously, how did he come to power?

Did anybody else think the scene with Clooney and the girl child at the end was weird? I know he was falling in love with his childhood again but I didn't like it.

When George Clooney and the gang arrived back in Tomorrowland, the place was broken. They broke Tomorrowland because everybody was having negative thoughts?! This goes completely against what Walt Disney had in mind for Tomorrowland. The fucking national anthem for Tomorrowland should be that there's a great big beautiful tomorrow -- but somehow it's doomsday central.

I truly don't understand why Disney took this angle with Tomorrowland. They fucked this up worse than they fucked up The Haunted Mansion and that's saying a lot.

Disney needs to stick to what they are good at. Not doing Inception remakes....but actually honoring Walt Disney's incredible ideas!
