Review of Tomorrowland (2015) by Robozot — 23 May 2015
It's not a terrible film, but considering all the brilliant people who made it, it's bizarrely incoherant. Nothing ever comes together, and there are no great emotional moments. It's just very flat.
It's visually limp also; the film's look is a dull grey sheen. The cast is energetic, but no-one really has anything to do except run from one place to the next. I kept waiting for the story to start.
Trivia: the great film editor Walter Murch (Apocolypse Now, Godfather 2) was originally in sole charge of the film's editing and post production. In the end, a Jerry Bruckheimer editor was also credited, which suggests there were big problems putting the thing together.
