While the flashbacks to the Clooney character's childhood take us (for about 10 minutes) into the wiz-bang Popular Mechanics retro-future stuff promised in the trailer, the majority of the movie is just a rambling roadshow of mundane shoot-em-ups, explosions and characters yelling at each other while looking confused or (in Clooney's case) angry.
There's also the problem of the overall mixed message. "Don't worry about about the impending apocalypse folks but don't ignore it either cause that would be bad.".
The children in the theater seemed to enjoy the parts where people fell down or ran into things so maybe that's the intended audience but for me, Tomorrowland isn't worth the trip.
