Review of Tomorrowland (2015) by Duncan1964 — 15 Jul 2015
Brad Bird should be applauded for coming up with a big budget summer blockbuster that is an original idea and not a sequel, prequel or comic book movie, and if he doesn't quite pull it off its not for the want of trying.
Clooney is in fine form as the reluctant hero here, even if a lot of his job is exposition that slows the film down, and the production design is stunning, add to that a couple of outstanding action sequences and you should have a hit, but Tomorrowland comes across as a well meaning vegetarian meal when what you really want is a nice juicy hamburger.
Its very well meaning, and really wants to educate, it just needed to be that little bit more fun.
