Review of Tomorrowland (2015) by Adrian S — 25 Sep 2015
It's certainly painful to see a big budget squandered on a quality A-list director who unfortunately doesn't live up to expectations this round. Tomorrowland boasts an interesting concept but doesn't offer enough meat and exciting twists, culminating in an anti-climactic showdown and coda that makes you go "Huh?" than "Wooo.
..yes!". Armed with an impressive cume of big-budget family-oriented mega-blockbusters that pump the adrenaline and tug at your heart, Brad Bird disappoints thoroughly this time and you can't help but wonder if Tomorrowland is the Frankenstein of the big-studio machinations as there's nothing remotely reminiscent of what Bird brought to his previous endeavours.
Still, this is just one big bomb in Bird's impressive canon. Just hoping the standards of his upcoming pics don't go down from here...
