Review of Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010) by Ebony C — 27 Sep 2010
Very much a direct copy of 'Red Dawn'. The only difference is that the body count is incomparable (way more people are killed in 'Red Dawn'), the modern outfits that are worn and the weaponry including tanks and aircraft.
It had some really slow periods throughout unfortunately and also some dodgy moments in it. Such as when they were hiding in Lee's folks restaurant, when they blow up the ride on lawn-mower and at the end (i may have lost a bit of concentration by this time), like where did they get all their guns from...?
All that being said it was good entertainment and provided there is a sequel it is a reasonable movie. The movie is directed at mid to late teenagers and younger adults cause the dialogue is a bit to be desired. Overall it is a good attempt at a remake of a not so old movie.
